The following requirements apply to the handicap signage program:
1. The applicant must have been issued a Handicap plate or Handicap placard by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles or other authorized agency acting under the authority of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
2. The applicant must have a current driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles.
3. The applicant must be the registered owner of the vehicle to be parked in the space. In addition, if the applicant is applying for a handicap space with a placard, they must be the individual to whom the placard was issued.
4. The applicant must also demonstrate residency at the location for which the Handicap parking space is requested.
5. The Traffic and Parking Commission may consider applications for members of a disabled person’s household, such as parents of disabled children or children of disabled senior adults with proof of custody or guardianship. 6. Traffic and Parking Form 2C completed by a Physician.
