You may be entitled to an abatement if you no longer own your vehicle.

In order to determine eligibility of an abatement, our office needs to see either a plate return receipt (by cancelling it with the Registry of Motor Vehicles) or proof that you transferred the plate to another car (by showing us the registration of the car it was transferred to).
